R&H Car Rentals is a Malawian car hire and transport business operating from the arrivals hall at Chileka, Blantyre — with its own fleet, its own drivers and a counter you can walk up to.
Most car hire in Malawi is arranged remotely. You find a number, you call it, and a vehicle appears — or it does not. R&H work differently for one simple reason: there is a physical desk, inside the terminal at Chileka International Airport, with a person behind it.
That changes what the business can offer. Arriving passengers who have not booked can arrange a vehicle on the spot rather than negotiating in a car park. Passengers who send their flight details ahead can have the counter expecting them. And anyone who has a problem with a hire knows exactly where to bring it.
The fleet is six vehicles, chosen to cover the range of journeys people actually make here — from the Honda Fit for economical city driving to a 3.0 litre Hilux double cab that will reach a project site in the rainy season. All six are available self drive or with one of our drivers.
Beyond hire, R&H run airport transfers, hotel pick-ups, group transport, excursions and a taxi service, plus monthly rentals and long-term leasing for organisations that need a vehicle for months rather than days.
Visa cards accepted at the desk
R&H take Visa card payments at the counter on a Standard Bank terminal. In a market where most transport is cash-only, that is worth stating plainly: you do not need to find an ATM before you can hire a car, and you are not carrying the cost of a week's hire in notes.
